[GUIDE] How to distinguish yourself from noobs. Empty
PostSubject: [GUIDE] How to distinguish yourself from noobs.   [GUIDE] How to distinguish yourself from noobs. EmptySun Jun 20, 2010 11:05 am

Introduction

There is a particular reason to writing this guide. Humor is not one of them, yet I know some of my reasoning might seem funny or whatnot.

The main reason I wrote this guide, is to help new players out. I'm sure many of you have faced the situation where you have been mistaken to be a so-called "noob". And by following my directions you should be able to avoid these situations by knowing what is considered "noob" or not in cabal.

Proceed with reading this guide only if you wish to play with honour and respect towards yourself and others.

__________________________________________________ ______________
1. Communication

~ Begging: Begging is COMPLETELY off-limits. A person who is willing to stoop as low as to beg for anything should be burried under "noob" comments and compulsive pking.

~ Language: Unless you are 100% certain that the person you are talking to understands and speaks your native language, do NOT start off a conversation in that particular language. This may either cause the other person to ignore you, verbally abuse you, or kill you on the spot.

If you are serious about this, speaking in your native language on the L chat is prohibited aswell. Keep this in mind since it usually fuels racisme and ignorant behaviour on both sides.

~ Spamming: Spamming is the act of continiously repeating a sentence in chat as to where it bothers others. Refrain from doing this including for trading on any channel. Say something once, and when nobody responds open up a shop.

~ by-passing censors: This is illegal so I won't even get into this.

2. Trading

~ Price-checking: Read the L chat on prices, ask for a price check or browse through the market before putting something up for sale. You might end up selling nothing, or making terrible losses. Also make sure you know exactly what you shouldn't be selling to NPC's. This includes but does not limit to: Cores, slotted titanium and above parts, materials cores, formula cards, Epaulets, map parts, etc..

~ Where?: When opening up shop, make sure you do this in a densely populated area ( mainly Desert Scream in the trade channel(s) ).

~ How?: Make your shop-title direct, short and attractive. Colours help draw attention but do not use to many of them. Capslock is acceptable in abreviations, prices and such, but do not use it for everything since it's fairly annoying to some.
Warehouses and such are places people are bound to pass by so find a nice spot there to increase your chances of selling.

3.PvP

~ Observe: When asked to pvp, or scouting for someone to pvp do not solely focus on their equipment. Take a look at the main website and read through the different skills for different classes as to determine their Ranks. Do not accept to the duels of those who are likely to use auras or which are higher ranked and lvled for you to handle. They are a waste of time unless you are confident you can take them.

~ Auras: Do NOT use battlemodes or auras unless the person you are facing decides to do so. If they don't you have a better chance using combo's since aura's and battlemodes have the weakness of being open to knockdowns and stuns.

~ Ganking: Don't deliberatly challenge players who stand no chance to beating you as it defy's the sole purpouse of pvp which is testing your own skills. Why test them if you know the outcome. You have nothing to prove to those lower lvled.

~ Running away: When you are losing a duel, don't run away, don't run to town. This is a waste of time to you and your opponent and causes frustration. They might lash out to you and at which point you deserve it. Unless you broke your combo, or had any other technical problems which you wish to get a rematch for.
In this case use a return stone. Don't simply run.

This is still a work in progress. If anyone has something to contribute post it here, or pm me. Thank you.
